Confidential Settlement Reached in Drunk Driving Case

by: Prince, Glover & Hayes Monday, November 22nd, 2010

Prince Glover & Hayes partner Joshua P. Hayes has reached a settlement for a client who was the passenger in a car rear-ended after a football game in 2007. The at-fault driver had been drinking and fled the scene, but a witness was able to get the tag number as he drove away. The client is a practicing attorney in Florida and filed the lawsuit before bringing the case to Prince Glover & Hayes. As Florida rules are different than Alabama, Josh had a battle with the wrong person being named as a Defendant. Josh was able to bring in the correct Defendant, but had some other Statute of Limitations issues. This case is an example of why it is important to get a lawyer involved as soon as possible after a personal injury occurs.
