by: Prince, Glover & Hayes Tuesday, March 8th, 2016

EUTAW, AL –A former Greene County High School teacher has filed suit against her former employers for their part in failing to provide her a safe and secure work environment. Yet to be identified individuals are also named as defendants and will be added to the lawsuit once their identities are discovered.

Well-known and respected teacher Ester Eaton was seriously injured when attempting to break up a fight on April 7, 2015.   Eaton’s suit alleges that the superintendent, principal and assistant principal improperly placed students into her class, without regard for the safety of students, teachers and support personnel.   The evidence will show that school officials knew or should have known that the guidelines and regulations in effect were not being followed and that serious injury or death could result.   Unfortunately, as a direct result of these actions, Eaton was seriously injured.   She has undergone surgery for her injuries and will likely undergo additional surgeries in the future.

Eaton is being represented by personal injury attorneys Josh Hayes and Coe Baxter of the Tuscaloosa firm Prince, Glover & Hayes. Eaton’s civil suit is pending in the court of Judge Eddie Hardaway, Jr. The CV number is 35-CV-2016-900019.
