Josh Hayes Settles Case Involving a Poorly Maintained Skylight for $300,000

Partner Josh Hayes has reached a $300,000 settlement in a personal injury case in which  our client fell some 30 feet through a poorly marked and poorly maintained skylight.  Our client suffered a broken rib, multiple spine fractures, multiple pelvic fractures, a laceration to his spleen, and multiple cuts, scrapes and bruises.  He was placed in the trauma intensive care unit for one day and spent an additional six days in the hospital.

The firm filed suit against nine defendants, claiming negligence, wantonness, negligent hiring/training/supervision and combined/concurring negligence.  Significantly, our client had marijuana in his system at the time of his fall.  Josh was able to successfully argue that that particular evidence was too prejudicial for a jury to hear, winning this crucial evidentiary battle.

Our firm handles numerous serious industrial injuries all over Alabama.  Call us today if you have been injured.  This case came to our firm via a dedicated referring attorney.  If you are an attorney with a similar case, we would love to partner with you to achieve successful results for your client.
