Partner Josh Hayes Settles Car Collision Case in Shelby County

by: Prince, Glover & Hayes Wednesday, November 9th, 2011

Partner Josh Hayes recently reached a settlement in a car collision case in Shelby County, Alabama. Our client was stopped at a red light at an intersection perpendicular to County Road 95. A car headed southbound on 95 was attempting to make a left turn and failed to yield to traffic going northbound on 95. The lights were yellow, and a witness stated that both drivers revved their engines and sped up in an effort to beat the light. The two cars collided and the impact pushed the vehicle which was attempting to turn left into our client’s vehicle. Our client suffered serious neck and back injuries.

Initially, both defendants’ insurance companies denied the claims, pointing fingers at each other. It wasn’t until Mr. Hayes conducted discovery, investigated the case, and spoke to the witness that the companies decided to settle. Mr. Hayes secured a total settlement of $97,500 from the two insurance companies, despite the fact they both initially told our client they wouldn’t pay anything. If you have been in a car accident and the insurance company denies your claim, don’t give up automatically. Prince, Glover & Hayes handles auto collision cases all over the state of Alabama.
