Partner Josh Hayes Settles Logging Truck Wreck in Hale County

by: Prince, Glover & Hayes Monday, April 23rd, 2012

Prince, Glover & Hayes attorney Josh Hayes has settled a personal injury case arising from a terrible wreck. A fully-loaded logging truck was speeding down Hwy 69S when the driver rear-ended our clients, sending them off the road and into a ditch. As a result of the impact, the log truck flipped over, spilling logs everywhere. The driver of the truck was faulted for following too closely. Mr. Hayes hired an expert in the case, who testified that the log truck driver should have been terminated long before this accident as a result of consistent falsifications and omissions in his driving log. In addition, the expert testified that the driver was following too closely, attempting to pass in a no-passing zone, and was speeding. Our clients, a husband and wife couple, suffered back, neck, arm, hip, head, and shoulder injuries. The husband’s injuries required surgery. Mr. Hayes zealously advocated for our clients, and reached a significant six-figure settlement at mediation before trial. The firm accepts 18 wheeler wrecks from across the entire state of Alabama.
