Prince Glover Attorney Josh Hayes Obtains Judgment Against Trucking Company

by: Prince, Glover & Hayes Tuesday, May 5th, 2009

Prince Glover Law attorney Josh Hayes, with the able assistance of paralegal Lynn Shirley, recently obtained a judgment of $175,143.84 for an injured client against a North Alabama trucking company.  The case was filed in Jefferson County.  Our client was a passenger in a vehicle when a dump truck driver with several previous violations crossed the yellow line and caused permanent injury to our client.  Unfortunately, another person in the vehicle with our client lost his life.  In addition to the $175,143.84 judgment against the trucking company, our client’s underinsured motorist coverage paid the policy limits of $40,000 to settle the claim, bringing the total settlement to over $215,000.

Prince Glover Law continues to practice in the areas of trucking litigation, product liability, insurance fraud and environmental litigation.  This case is an excellent example of the importance of having underinsured/uninsured motorist coverage.  This coverage kicks in when the driver who caused the wreck either does not have insurance, or does not have enough insurance.  If you don’t have this coverage, please call your insurance agent today!
