Prince, Glover & Hayes Settles Drunk-Driving Case

by: Prince, Glover & Hayes Monday, September 12th, 2011

Attorney Coe Baxter has settled a drunk-driving case in Tuscaloosa County. Witnesses noticed the adverse driver swerving across the road before running head-on into our client. Her car was totaled and she was badly injured.

Not surprisingly, the drunk driver did not have enough insurance coverage to pay for all our client’s injuries. Considering the circumstances, Mr. Baxter was able to make the driver’s insurance company settle quickly for full policy limits. Fortunately, our client also had UIM insurance (Under-Insured Motorist) and Mr. Baxter was able to collect the full policy limits on that policy as well in order to cover all our client’s bills and compensate her for her pain and suffering. He also obtained a reduction on her medical bills.

George E. Bourguignon, Jr. Said:

Here is a case for raising your liability limits on your auto insurance policy. One may think that they are careful and will not cause someone else damage, but it is the un/under insured coverage that needs to be considered. Here, it was maxed out. Good post.
