Prince, Glover & Hayes Settles Head-On Collision Case

by: Prince, Glover & Hayes Tuesday, August 30th, 2011

Partner Josh Hayes recently settled a car accident case in which our client was hit head-on. The defendant driver looked down at her cell phone, and when she looked back up she had already crossed the center lane. It was too late to make any corrections, and she hit our client head-on, causing serious injuries.

Mr. Hayes was successful in obtaining a settlement for full policy limits under two different policies- one for UIM (under-insured motorist) coverage and one from the defendant’s policy. He also achieved a settlement from a third policy, another UIM policy which insured our client. This is possible because in Alabama, UIM “stacking” is allowed, which means if you have UIM coverage on more than one vehicle, you can combine the total amount and apply it to the same accident if you are injured by a driver who does not have sufficient insurance amounts to cover your injuries. Mr. Hayes successfully achieved a quick settlement before filing suit in this case, which saved our client the time, stress, and extra expense of litigation. If you have been injured, call our offices today.
